CONSULTATION

In certain cases it is important to talk to an advisor and discuss the options available to your child.

We can help you decide on the appropriate course of action and guide their academic placement.

If you are uncertain about the options for your child, consider scheduling a one-on-one appointment to determine the best strategy, given your unique learner’s situation and family needs and goals.

Whether it is a course at your child’s school or at College Board APs, we listen and help you make the most of making this important decision.

Note that all new students interested in our more advanced classes are required to undergo a comprehensive evaluation process that necessitates a consultation. In addition to it, such students must complete an interest interview and will be administered at least one placement test. Not all students are granted admission to our upper division classes.

ON-SITE CLASSES

Manhattan Education Learning Center is different from other education centers. We offer small group on-site classes for all level of students (Yes, even very advanced ones!)

We do not just offer school skills, general tutoring and homework boosters when it comes to mathematics, but also  offer a wide selection of advanced enrichment classes and options.

Whether you are interested in giving your learner an extra challenge or push to strive harder, we have many classes to choose from.

We do not leave even the most advanced students behind. We work with many gifted and talented kids and do not allow them to get bored. We provide opportunities for them to excel nationally.

All our classes require commitment and completion of homework assignments. Most classes meet weekly and have a low student-to-instructor ratio.

Enrollment is ongoing provided that we have an opening in the class your child is eligible for and interested to take. In cases when we have no available slots, we can keep your student on the waiting list and call as soon as there is an opening.

VIRTUAL CLASSES

Our virtual classes are designed for students who live far away and cannot take advantage of our local classes, camps and academic circles.

To be admitted into the virtual program, students not only need to be eager, but also have to be ready to take on the more advanced curriculum. So virtual classes are limitted to students who have demonstrated proficiency and are ready to work independently on the weekly challenges. A mathematical level of maturity beyond their particular school grade level is a must for a student who functions successfully in a virtual class.

In cases when younger students are involved, a parental support can be very important to keep the student up to date with electronic submissions of the homework assignments and explorations. We do not recommend these classes for very young students, but occasionally there is a talented student working years ahead of grade level standard and those particular youngsters tend to do very successfully with our virtual classes.

Virtual students are given access to exclusive materials and are always welcome to participate in contests administered by Manhattan Education Learning Center.

CAMPS

Students tend to forget a lot during extended school vacations without proper guidance. To avoid any misleading performances on placement tests administered immediately after vacations, we recommend that kids continue with their classes over breaks.

In addition to our regular classes, we provide half-day academic camps over the summer and winter breaks. Enrollment is on a first come - first serve basis with priority given to our current students.

Most of our camps are academic and designed for TAG identified students who focus for extended periods of time and are interested in exploring mathematics, science or any subject involving critical thinking deeper than the average student.

Early drop-off is optional and available to families. We have limited openings because we like to keep the groups small. So if you are considering our camp for your child, it is important to sign up in advance. You can inquire about camps by emailing us at  info@manhattanlc.org.

OUTREACH

In an effort to popularize excellence in mathematics and to help meet the need to inspire more students to pursue STEM related fields in future years, we gladly help support teachers & principals who want to start math clubs and teams at nearby schools.

We can help pilot local enrichment programs as well as facilitate tournaments.

If you are interested in helping run such a program and want to set the bar higher for your interested and capable students, email or call for details.
